Lucy Lewis is a movement therapist. She worked at Martinez County Hospital with patients in the crisis ward. She has worked with the healing art of movement for many years creating performances and teaching classes. Her thesis, in Anthropology, was based on cross-cultural forms of dance and movement as applied to healing looking at how Native American and Aboriginal Australian traditions use dance as a form of healing. This is the embodiment of knowing through the bodies intelligence. In her presentation at the Conference for the Study of Shamanism and Alternative Modes of Healing in the 1980’s, she introduced dance forms inspired by the Elements.
