White Buffalo Stands is a full-blooded Northern Cheyenne tribal member, hereditary chief from both his mother and father’s lineage, and a 6th generation singer. From the time he was a child spirit, White Buffalo Stands was taught the importance of song in life, in healing, and the important responsibility of keeping the songs for the tribe. These songs are the heartbeat of the Cheyenne way of prayer, an expression of reverence and deep gratitude for life.
